Mrs. Lowrance's Spanish class
Welcome to Spanish class!
Sixth grade students in the exploratory Spanish and Latin classes will spend one semester studying each language. All students will receive four periods of language instruction per week. Students will be exposed to Spanish and Latin language, culture, history and geography while learning basic vocabulary, conversational skills and translation. In Spanish, emphasis will be placed on food and restaurant vocabulary and we will culminate the semester with a field trip to a restaurant! In Latin, language learning will be embedded in classical mythology and art and we will culminate the semester in a scavenger hunt at the North Carolina Museum of Art!
Seventh grade Spanish is the 1st part of a two-year course of study designed to prepare students for high school Spanish. Students explore Spanish speaking countries and embark on cultural challenges while learning Spanish vocabulary, grammar and culture.
